How We Are Organized
PC(USA)
Cashmere Presbyterian Church belongs to the national Presbyterian Church (USA) denomination. Presbyterians are distinctive in two major ways: (1) We adhere to a pattern of religious thought known as Reformed Theology and (2) we have a form of government that stresses the active leadership of both ministers and church members. The Book of Order of the PC(USA) is something like the “Constitution,” and gives structure and guidance on how the church is to operate.
"The Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) consists of two parts: Part One is The Book of Confessions, and part Two, the Book of Order, consists of the Foundations of Presbyterian Polity, Form of Government, Directory for Worship, and Rules of Discipline." |
Presbyterian Church (USA)Northwest Coast Presbytery "covers all the PCUSA congregations, extending from the northern suburbs of Seattle to the tip of the Olympic peninsula to the far reaches of the Alaska panhandle!"

The SessionThe Session at Cashmere Presbyterian Church is made up of men and women who are elected by the members of the congregation and are known as “elders.” Each elder has an area of ministry and a team of people to help carry out the functions of that ministry.
